The AB process was first developed by Professor B0HUKE from Germany. This process divides the aeration tank into two stages: high and low load, each with independent sedimentation and sludge reflux systems. The residence time of high load section A is about 20-40 minutes, mainly due to biological flocculation and adsorption, while incomplete oxidation reactions occur. The organisms are mainly short generation bacterial communities, and BOD removal reaches over 50%. Section B is similar to conventional activated sludge, with lower load and longer sludge age.
